hi,
today i went to the science centre. to see the da vinci exhibition.
interesting. cos it was the PA(peoples association) family day, my uncle got the tickets at $5 each, and incl lunch. WOW! THATS TOTALLY SO 值得!
and so we went inside.
Leonardo Da Vinci's nationality was Italian.
interesting interesting and interesting. apparently he invented lots of stuff.
helicopter(which would never have flown), and erm lots of stuff that i dont remember,
peculiar stuff. objects that doesnt concern us, objects that we would have never invented.
apparently he was like a scientist, musician and an artist.
he invented a scuba diving suit(Cool isnt it? but it doesnt last long in water cos of its material) a water skiing thingies, which would never have worked. and a golden proportion of men. is it Vitruvius or ? i dunno, smth abt man.
many inventions, didnt look thru all really carefully. military stuff. the war chariot. 2 kinds actually. one kind was that if the horse started becoming siao ting tong, it would kill ally forces and the enemy. and not forgetting the horse. the other kind was that if the horse turns behind, it can see the weapons(i dunno how to describe) thus getting frightened, and will start to charge forward. good idea! (thats TOTALLY mean to the horse.) and also it means that, it can only go forward.
cannons. erm. a fanshaped one.
wats the highlight? GUESS.
his famous painting, Mona Lisa. :D
the 'feminine mystique'.
so basically erm it has a very very long history, mona lisa over 500 years old.
da vinci is a crazy man, a man of perfectionist.
it was reported in the news that a french man called Pascal could actually see the REAL and NOT replica mona lisa painting. and he took a picture of it in 240 million pixels! WOW.
and he could assume how the original mona lisa looked like using machines(not the real person but the painting when it was painted.)
some facts:
1)a madman threw a rock at the painting and left a permanent mark there.
2)someone stole the painting cos he wanted it to be returned to Italy, but it was recovered 2 years later.
3)there ARE actually eyelashes and eyebrows on mona lisa's face, cos he painted the eyebrows too thin and thus it cannot be seen.
4)the background is actually blue and not green, cos of the effect of the varnish going inside the painting.
5) Leonardo himself carried the painting around for many many years, he made many retouches to the painting. when he died, the painting was still unfinished!
6)it was sold to some French person, and it landed up with Napoleon, which he displayed it in his bedroom and bathroom, causing the painting to be damaged, due to the water vapour. i think its because of this that the original painting had a mark beside the eye and on the chin.
7)still dunno hu that lady was, it might have been Leonardo himself imagining himself to be a woman.
8) someone actually poured acid at the painting, damaging the lower part of the painting! OO
9)a 'H' was marked at the back of the of the painting, still remains a mystery.
my cousins was like, 'Aiyah H only wat, maybe he mark there for fun leh?! hah EVERYTHING also must have story behind it arh?!'
after that ate the lunch, which was
Mcdonalds.
my brother wanted to watch the van gogh movie in the omni theatre.
its really sad. van gogh's life.
i'll stop here for now.
bye! =D
