SMUN'13!

- SMUN was fun! an eye-opener really.
- the way the chairs speak (and everyone else) is so cool 8D (too cool for me u__u)
- I am actually quite quiet, having spoken only twice throughout the whole thing.
- being a first-timer is not an excuse for being so quiet.
- Could not believe how much everyone actually researched on their country.
- I mean seriously, being delegate of Belgium, I only knew of my country's abortion policy and stance towards female genital mutilation while I was doing my position paper, which was handed in half an hour late.
- Meanwhile, I ventured into World Health Organization (WHO) first committee session, with my brain containing only the fact that Belgium legalized abortion in 1990. (It wasn't exactly legalized, it was more of liberalized.)
- Only made use of my cousin's iPad mini from the second day onward. (to do research that I should've done earlier.)
- Everyone's nice and friendly,
except for the fact that I'm embarrassingly awkward and utterly silent in front of strangers. - I need to speak up more.
- Realize that I have been washing my hands more often (WHO pride~!)
- the guest speaker for our committee, Dr. Steven Ooi (if I'm not wrong), reminds me of that old man in 'Up'.
- Dinner and dance was cool. 8D
- had a taster of what clubbing was like
- d&d was probably nothing similar.
- got super high and went home really late.
- was tired the next day but not as tired as on the first day
when I spent my night trying to do my position paper and read up on more info - I should try to talk more to people.
urgh what's wrong with me - Delegate of Madagascar thought I was Malay! :o
- Terribly frightened and intimidated by other delegates oratorical skills.
- even more horrified by the amount of research they've done and info they've dug out (Delegate of Lebanon's thick stack of research and it seems like it was copied down. SHAME ON YOU CHOO SHAME~)
- To end off really
inappropriately, USE YOUR HANDS.
And now its back to reality. :\ (showed how much i enjoyed it)
and back to mum's nags and rants about how I should study because one week is over and my exams are right after my holidays.
Yes I fucking get the hint, mum.
