SELAMAT HARI RAYA TO ALL OUR MALAY FRIENDS!
Okay I know its kinda late to be posting this especially when school has already started but I'm still really grateful that there was a long weekend because of Hari Raya, and there's great food around, so I'm happy 8D
Anyway so I re-took my NAPFA today for the 2nd or 3rd time. =__= I didn't fail NAPFA, I just didn't get a silver. If I was able to obtain that silver, I wouldn't spend extra 2 months in army.
I was still rather apprehensive about running 2.4 because I stupidly didn't train although they postponed several times the retest and I was actually stupid enough go for a strenuous run the day before, so my legs were kind of exhausted. (I couldn't climb up to the 4th floor without feeling tired)
:/
After all our stations, we were preparing for 2.4, and Mr Ng said we were supposed to get at least a 12:40 timing if we wanted to get that silver. I kept my hopes up and encouraged myself by saying/semi-shouting "I CAN DO THIS" (I sound creepy; please don't judge).
At the last round, I tried to widen my strides but I eventually went back to smaller steps. >__> Gerald and Xuewei sprinted during the last 200m and I was like wtf are they doing. Honestly nuh uh this ain't happenin' for me so I just continued running at my own pace. Then at the last 100m, I sprinted and I ended the run. (And I felt more exhausted than if I had been slow as usual and then failing to get a silver)
Gerald and Xuewei finished much earlier than me (obviously) and while I was panting and dying, I noticed Mr Ng's face was kind of stern, and I was thinking if I fail (didn't get silver) this time round, fuck it I'm never retaking again 2 more months it is then
I was sitting on the ground and catching my breath, then Mr Ng approached me and showed me my timing:
IT WAS 12:39.
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. DO YOU KNOW HOW LUCKY I AM?
JESUS CHRIST.
(Gerald and Xuewei finished around 12:27)
Mr Ng shook hands with me to congratulate me. I was bursting with joy and afterwards in the canteen after I had recovered, I was spreading the news around like a thick-faced auntie. (to my friends, not to random schoolmates) I was practically in an unusually (and rare, considering I hate school so much) good mood, and was ecstatic for the whole day. I finally passed my NAPFA, and I feel like I am ready to conquer the world. /proceeds to kiss my guns/
It really is a Hari Raya eh?
for me at least.
If you were having a bad day,
