HELLO I AM BACK I SURVIVED TWO WEEKS.

/pops confetti and sips moscato/

It is almost 1 am now and I don't think I have the energy to write a long post so I'll try to keep it short here. Army does wonderful things to you, many of which include screwing your sleeping times and your volume of food intake. (Technically sleeping time is 10.30pm-5.30am in army which is already NOT ENOUGH. And they forcefeed you during meal times; the amount of rice they give is akin to feeding ravenous beasts, and I dislike this the most, now I don't feel full when eating at home zzz)

Yeah continuing from my last post, I took a really long time to open up to my section mates, and even up till now I haven't really spoken to all of them yet. But I'm really grateful to have such wonderful and entertaining section mates who make the difficulties and bitterness a little easier to swallow. I'm thankful for all their encouragement and support, even though I may come off as aloof and unfriendly due to my initially reserved nature. And honestly I'm also thankful to all my sergeants, who are actually all really nice and friendly people even though they may seem aloof at times. (I suspect that they're only trying to be nice and it'll get worse in the future, since according to online forums, the first two weeks are usually the honeymoon period.)

Never would I have thought that my first two weeks would be this smooth-sailing, especially for a person who displayed his objection and reluctance to enlist in a passive-aggressive manner by wearing a War Is Over John Lennon Yoko Ono shirt, in the very institution that prepares every Singaporean male for war. I would be lying if I claim that its okay, but its not as inhumane as I expected. I never chose to enlist, but like the others, I simply have to suck it up. It's stressful, exhausting and agonizing at times. Things are only gonna get tougher and I can only hope that I can survive the next few weeks in BMT(and not get transferred into the longer BMT cuz of my failures in physical tests, i.e. IPPT) and throughout the rest of my National Service.
